Driving along 101, we checked our map and saw that we would have to get to Seattle via Ferry. This thought excited me, until we got to said ferry and were charged $16!!! Which in reality isn't very much, until you're living in a van and have a whole different outlook on money and value...We debated going the long way to snuff this offensive charge, but didn't. Ha!
Jazzy was very nervous about being on the front of a huge ship...
Seattle at last! We decided to hang out at Green Lake Park to wait for our Friend Tony to get off work, and to show off Jazz's frisbee skills. The weather was absolutely gorgeous! No rain or clouds in sight the whole time we were there!
The Space Needle!
Tony took us to an art museum to see an ancient Chinese art exhibit, then to this beach on Lady Bird Johnson Lake. We made Seattle Sangaritas (margaritas with a little wine splashed in, and black berries Brady picked from the beach)!
This is our friend Tony, who grew up in Graham with Brady, and now lives the life of an artist in Seattle!
Loving it!
We met up with our old roommates and good friends Nadia and Cody, who now live in Seattle. They took us out to a whiskey bar one night, you know, for some classy dinner...
Cuties!!
Cody scored this awesome Bass coozie from the Goodwill by his house. Totally awesome! It matches some bass candlesticks he bought there previously...
Picnic day! I'm not sure if it was a birthday party, or going away party, but Nadia and Cody took us to this great park one day where all of their friends were having a "rib-off"! Cody, an incredibly proficient cook, had his special recipe ready to go. And I was ready with my Seattle Sangaritas!
Cody with his "MLK JR Memorial" Ribs
Nadia's roommate Jackie just acquired a Crocket set, which I had never played before. Turns out, I'm a natural! Especially when the rules say you can only play one handed, since you have to have a drink in your other hand at all times. Apparently, this is how the professionals play!
Mmmm! Cody's ribs came in second place (we're pretty sure first place cheated by cooking them in the oven before hand, and covering them in butter...)
Reggae! You're in the way of the game bubba!!
Jazz, always on the prowl, had some Hispanic kids almost in tears laughing at her Pigeon hunting.
Brady dominated every team at corn-hole!
Tony got to meet up with us again too! Look at Jazz in the background, about to score some ribs discarded on the ground...
Nadia got a break for a couple of days from work so we headed to Leavenworth, Washington for some camping.
We got Cody climbing for his first time!
Yeah! Get it Code-Man!
The Space Needle, as it should be seen... Bye Bye Seattle! Nadia, Cody, and Tony- we will miss you and your beautiful sunny city! (Ooops, that's a Seattle secret!)
Quick duck-face before we hit the road...
Next stop, Bend, Oregon!!
